about
Burden has a very personal message.
One of my biggest struggles is to give myself time to grow. Time to learn things. Time to leave the past and its weight behind and just breathe for a moment.
While trying and failing is a healthy process that we should not be afraid of, I'm tearing myself apart when something goes wrong or if I can't break a habt after one day.
All of this takes a big toll on my mental health but being the person I am, it is very hard for me to ask for help or even share these things with others.
It is my burden to carry.
This song is my way of letting go of that anger and frustration, facing the fear of "being too much" for others. It's like a diary note to myself and others to have empathy with yourself and that all things in life take time to evolve.
I hope you enjoy it.
Much love
Matt
lyrics
Lyrics:
I don't know what is wrong
But even if I did, I wouldn't tell you
Because the weight of it
Makes me feel like this
And the burden to carry is mine
A glimpse of liberty
Born from serenity
But the burden to carry is mine
With every step I'm taking
Another habit's breaking
I'm so sick and tired
Of falling back into the same routine
And all the countless times I
Have failed to give myself time
I'm letting go of all that's condescending
I'm finally letting go
I'm letting go
Of the weight that holds me back
Everytime I'm try to take the next step
This self-betrayal in my thoughts
Eradicate this remorse
Sinking further into
This swamp I'm hiding from you
But I am more than just
A product of the past
A shadow in the vast, yeah
So will you raise me from the waters
Or am I left to drown
Will I overcome this burden
Or will I let you down
With every step I'm taking
Another habit's breaking
I'm so sick and tired
Of falling back into the same routine
And all the countless times I
Have failed to give myself time
I'm letting go of all that's condescending
I'm finally letting go
So will you raise me from the waters
Or am I left to drown
Will I overcome this burden
Or will I let you down
